Maxwell's Restaurant is one of the larger restaurant in Lincoln City Oregon. The restaurant is located conveniently on the scenic highway of Highway 101. The restaurant is also located very close to the resorts at the beach, thus it is a place where many tourists would go to. The restaurant also opens for 21 hours on Friday and Saturday, thus it is a great place to hang out during the weekend.
Maxwell restaurant offers daily breakfast menu till 3PM in the afternoon and there is a special menu item each day. In addition, other than being a restaurant that serves food and drinks, it also has a lounge for adults to enjoy their drinks. Moreover, there is karaoke where people can enjoy singing. Last and not the least, Maxwell's Restaurant does provide banquet service. It has a big room that can fit around 40 people.
When we got to the restaurant, we were already quite tired from glass orb treasure hunting along the beach in the morning. (you can read more about glass orb treasure hunting here) There weren't many people in the restaurant when we sat down. We had to wait a bit for the server to give us menu and there were only 2 servers at that time. The items on the menu are like any other restaurant. It has breakfast menu that includes omelet, pancakes, and other items. Lunch menu includes sandwich, fish and chips, and others. This time we chose to order Fish and Chips, and Crab Cake. Also, one reminder is that the restaurant serves Pepsi instead of Coke, if this matters to you.
After a while, our meal is here. The fish and chips lunch uses cod for the fish. The meal comes with 4 pieces of cod. This is usually a piece more than other restaurants. Other restaurants usually give 3 pieces. If you don't like cod, you can choose to have halibut instead. The fish is not bad. It is crunchy on the outside, and still very hot and juice inside. There isn't a lot of batter on the fish either, which is good. The fries is not as good. It tasted like McDonald's fries. This is my personal opinion however, since I like thick fries instead of thin fries.
The second meal is the crab cake. This meal came with 3 pieces of fried crab cake and a garlic toast. The garlic toast is pretty good. I actually like it quite a lot. However, the crab cake is a little disappointing. The crab cake has a lot of mashed potato is there. So it tastes more like hash brown instead of crab cake. The amount of crabs in this crab cake is a bit too little. So I don't recommend to order this crab cake when you go there.
Furthermore, these lunch menu items are also served with your choice of green salad or cup chowder soup. Green salad comes with croutons on top. The cup chowder is pretty good and served with 2 different types of crackers.
Overall, this restaurant is about average in my opinion. It is located at a convenient location however, so it is still a good place to have lunch at after spending a day at the beach.
