Roxy's Island Grill is a restaurant that sells Hawaiian styled teriyaki and burgers. The reception of this chain restaurant is well received by people in Portland. The original Roxy's Island Grill restaurant located in Beaverton and this location is always full of customers. Whenever I go to this location, I always have to wait for about 30 minutes before I can get my order. Most recently, it has opened another one at its new location in Hillsboro. This new Hillsboro location is actually closer to me and has much less people. The new location also has much larger dine in seating space and serves food a lot faster.
Roxy's Island Grill has several items on its menu and most of them are teriyaki related. It also sells noodles, burgers, and fries if you would like to have some. My recommendation is to get teriyaki chicken or teriyaki beef because these are the best. Roxy's teriyaki sauce is also amazing and you can get as much sauce as you want.
This time we ordered a teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef. Whenever we order teriyaki beef we always to have to wait for about 10 minutes. This is because the kitchen has to make teriyaki beef on the fly. I usually prefer to have teriyaki beef over chicken because teriyaki beef is more tender. With green onion added on top of the teriyaki beef, it just brings out the flavor. Teriyaki chicken is good too, but it is just not as tender as the beef.
The meal comes with two scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. You can choose to swap the side with fried noodle or seaweed salad as well with additional cost. I really like the macaroni salad from Roxy's. It is silky smooth and has a lot of flavor. When the macaroni salad is mixed with teriyaki sauce, the taste is just amazing. One of the cool thing is that they use ice cream scoop to scoop the rice and macaroni salad!
Other than the food, Roxy's Island Grill also sells classic Hawaiian soft drinks.
Lastly, although some people dine at the restaurant, I have always ordered take out at Roxy's Island Grill for convenience. I just think it is better to enjoy the food at home and watch TV at the same time. Moreover, Roxy's Island Grill provides catering service and this is also how I found out about this amazing place!
